Born in San Francisco, Jonah was attracted to the world of photo and film since his early childhood. He left San Francisco to study film and photography at New York University (NYU) and started working as a film director, creating artistic short films which depict his unique view and vision.
Always eager to collect new impressions, he decided to enhance and continue his education in the art capitol of Edinburgh, Scotland, which inspired him to focus on still photography as complex visions and stories that he successfully translated into single images.
Designers soon picked up on his fresh approach and progressive themes, and started contracting Jonah's artistic talent for the fashion industry. Jonah left Europe for Los Angeles to work with well-known fashion & advertising agencies and soon became a favorite photographer amongst directors, designers and models alike. His assignments took him to London, UK, Jamaica, Argentina and India, with his clients including top brands and individuals such as Nike, Orange Mobile, Yong Fong (Ghost Clothing UK), Henry Thompson, Morgan de Toi, Shirley Manson (Garbage), Disney, Anthony Hamilton (Author, Mind-Time & Power), Juan D'Anyelica (Composer & Musician), Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, Directors Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction), Guilia Marletta & Brett Ratner (Rush Hour) to name but a few. Amongst various other awards, Jonah occupied 2nd and 3rd place in the International Photographer's Awards in 2005 in the categories "Beauty" and "Self Portrait".
After several years of working in the fashion industry, Jonah decided to opt for an artistic break and worked on a photography collection of Cuba which was exhibited in various galleries in the US, Europe and Mexico (also available as a coffee table book).
One of these exhibitions led him to Cancun, Mexico in 2009 where he found himself in great demand as a photographer and designer for various assignments in advertising, fashion and TV (TV Azteca). Always on the lookout for a new challenge, he successfully applied his artistic talent and his background in film and fashion to capture wedding photos in his unique signature style. Within record time, Jonah's unique combination of mixing editorial, fashion and abstract styles put him in high demand amongst wedding couples. His unobtrusive approach results in natural, engaging and unique pictures that tell a compelling story. He is currently based in Mexico but his assignments take him world wide. Jonah has just been commissioned to produce images for a new exhibition and book about weddings. Updates will follow!
